The 2025 GMC Yukon will lead the brand’s global expansion

GMC will take the wraps off a new version of its Yukon full-size SUV later this year, and a teaser image released this week hints at what’s to come.

What stands out is the new headlight design which is longer and narrower than the current Yukon. GMC has also confirmed a revised fascia and grille. The version shown is the off-road AT4 grade that was added for 2021, when the Yukon was last redesigned.

Other revisions should feature changes made to the related twin Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban for the 2025 model year, such as the addition of a larger infotainment screen, new electronic assistance features including the latest version of the automatic General Motors’ Super Cruise, plus more power with the available turbo-diesel 3.0-liter inline-6.

In Chevys, diesel power has been reduced to 305 hp from the previous 277 hp. The diesel is also rated at 277 hp in the current 2024 Yukon and may match Chevys 305 hp in the updated Yukon. Other options currently available for the Yukon include a 5.3-liter V-8 with 355 hp and a 6.2-liter V-8 with 420 hp. Those two gas engines are likely to carry over unchanged, once again highlighting the powertrains in the latest Chevys.

The updated Yukon will arrive in 2025 and will follow the arrival of the new 2024 Acadia dealerships this spring.

The latest update is more important than ever as the 2025 Yukon will “lead” GMC’s expansion into global markets, starting with Australia, China and New Zealand, GMC has confirmed. Currently, the only region outside of North America where GMC operates is West Asia.
