Suzuki won the 2024 edition ahead of BMW and Yamaha

The 2024 edition of Le Mans 24H Moto was won on Sunday afternoon by Yoshimura SERT Motul. The team with Gregg Black, Etienne Masson and Dan Linfoot in its line-up was crowned the winner after 857 laps ahead of the BMW Motorrad Endurance World Team and YART Yamaha.

For Yoshimura SERT Motul, the victory during the 47th edition of Le Mans 24H is the fifteenth time that they have managed to win the previous edition of the FIM EWC on the French circuit. Gregg Black, Etienne Masson and Dan Linfoot took a confident victory over the 4.1km course, despite a crash in the early stages of the race causing a significant loss of time. But on Sunday morning, after more than sixteen hours of racing, the GSXR1000 managed to take the lead and never let it go.

The BMW Motorrad World Endurance team crossed the finish line in second place. At the back, Markus Reiterberger, Ilya Mikhalchik and newcomer to the team Sylvain Guintoli were no match for SERT’s violence. At this time the BMW Dunlop tires were in poor condition compared to the Bridgestone tires used by Suzuki and Yamaha. It was only during the night hours that the Dunlops proved to be a match for the original Japanese rubber. But in any case, team boss Werner Daemen can still be satisfied with the result, after finishing third last season, second place this time is not bad.

YART Yamaha eventually had to settle for third place after leading for most of the race. However, on Sunday morning they faced a setback when Hanika fell. The Czech fell because of a broken chain and it was immediately clear that he had been hit in the leg by this chain. With Hanika out of the race with a face full of pain, Marvin Fritz and Niccolo Canepa were able to minimize the damage and finally send the Yamaha R1 across the finish line in third place.

Behind Suzuki, BMW and Yamaha, the Kawasaki Webike Trickstar team (Leblanc, Gamarino, Ramos) and National Motos Honda (V. Suchet, S. Suchet, Raymond) finished fourth and fifth, making five different manufacturers five the best in this edition. The latter team also won the Superstock class and fifth place overall.

The Chromeburner Rac41 team of Jesko Raffin, Martin Reaudin, Chris Leesch and Dutchman Wayne Tessels finished ninth overall, finishing second in the Superstock class with five laps behind National Motos Honda. The 3ART Best Bike Team (Kemmer, Vietti-Ramus, Watanuki, Pot) finished this edition third in the Superstock class.
