Bugatti makes ten Centodieci with Le Mans livery


He competed, but never saw the checkered flag. Less than an hour before the end of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Bugatti EB110 LM suffered a blow. As a sort of consolation prize (but almost 30 years later), Bugatti is bringing back the EB110 racing gear as a beautiful Bugatti Centodieci livery, including the same blue paint, gold rims and sponsor stickers.

“Great cars have great stories to tell,” Bugatti said before the presentation of the special Centodieci. “It’s even more amazing when a car has such an interesting story that the owner of a modern version references and honors that great story by configuring it in the same style.”

Underneath those racing overalls is a massive 8.0-liter W16 four-turbo engine. Sure, you know it from the Bugatti Chiron. In Centodieci it offers 100 hp more than in Chiron, bringing the total power to 1,600 hp. You almost wonder how the Centodieci would do during a long-distance race at the Circuit de la Sarthe.

The American owner of the Bugatti Centodieci in Le Mans livery is paying about 10 million euros for the retro racer. ‘When the EB100 raced at Le Mans in 1994, it seemed as if the Bugatti bloodline was in full swing. I appreciate the meaning of history and find a connection with the past. It makes the property even more special,” he says.
