Open credit from Honda to Max Verstappen; shall we continue together in the future?



Three-time F1 world champion Max Verstappen has Good relationship with Honda. That has been clear for years to anyone who follows Formula 1. But their relationship will officially end in 2026. After saying goodbye to Formula 1 for the eleventh time, the Japanese have decided to continue as engine suppliers to Aston Martin since the new regulations come into force.

After rumors of a possible retirement from the Dutchman at Red Bull due to all the chaos surrounding Horner-gate and a hidden internal conflict, pundits had put their faith in a move from Verstappen to the same Aston Martin. It’s no surprise because of the strong bond the Verstappens have with Honda. Like one day we would drive for Honda’s new factory F1 team. And Max built a close relationship with the Japanese after a short time, through their shared view of technology and mutual respect. The latter is very important in Japanese culture. That close relationship has led to the F1 world championship at this point.

Although the two sides seem to have parted ways, it is too late Koji Watanabe leaving the door open for the future. “I don’t think Verstappen will retire anytime soon.
