24 Hours of Daytona, pole and Cadillac track record

Pipo Derani’s lap was 1’32″656 which put the Cadillac, number 31 on the pole, in front of the crew #01 of Chip Ganassi, who stopped with Bourdais less than a tenth (1’32″727) closer to the Porsche of 2. (1’32″876).

“Cadillac was flying today, it’s a privilege and a pleasure to drive this car, it’s perfect. There was a lot of team work to improve what needed to be improved towards qualification”has commented on Derani. “The car was on track, it was fun to feel the full potential of the GTP.

In the end we all found ourselves with small gaps. It seems to me that Porsche is only a tenth from pole. It was just a matter of finding that information to get a little more time and we made it.

We didn’t really wonder when it was possiblewe just tried to make the most of what we had. To be honest, I’m very surprised, but the conditions today were fine: cold, tires that worked well, then in qualifying we ran without loads.”Â

LMP2, United Autosport sets the pace

Good track conditions also helped the performance in the LMP2 Class, where Ben Keating -1’38″501 – was the author of the fastest session, while United Autosport was ahead of InterEuropol (1’38″603).

“The song was very fast, almost in perfect condition. I was surprised, I couldn’t believe it. When I made the tour I didn’t expect the others to be so close, I thought we could row easily. However, Nick Boulle is only one tenth behind, this says a lot about the level of competition in the LMP2 Class this year”.

GTD Pro: Porsche ahead, Lamborghini fourth

Going through the time sheets after qualifying, in the GTD PRO Class the fastest lap was set by AO Racing PorscheSeb Priaulxin 1’44″382, again with less than a tenth of a lap margin in the VasserSullivan team Lexus.Â

GTD Pro that sees Lamborghini of the Iron Linx team fourth (1’44″831) with the crew of Perera-Pepper-Caldarelli-Bortolottifollowed by the Ferrari 296 GTB of Risi Competizione, #62 of Serra-Rigon-Pier Guidi-Calado, author of the Huracan GT3 at one time in the thousand.

Seventh in the GTD class is Antonio Fuocodesigned by Cheever-Sernagiotto-Lacorte.
