7 APRIL

Rallyraid – Nasser Al Attiyah (BRX) won the third round of the WK Rally Raid (W2RC) in Portugal. Ghislain de Mévius (Challenger) was 24th, Stefan Carmans (Red Lined) 39th in Guillaume de Mévius (Toyota) 54th.

GT – Laurens Vanthoor and Kévin Estre (Porsche) won the 24 Hour preparation race at the Nürburgring. Vanthoor passed Jordan Pepper (Lamborghini) meters before the finish and won by 42 thousand.

GT- At Le Castellet, BMW won the first round of the GT Europe Endurance, but it did not come from the Belgian WRT. After all, Charles Weerts had a flat tire, causing his teammate It dries Vanthoor he couldn’t even drive. The winner of the award was Rowe with the trio of Augusto Farfus, Dan Harper and Max Hesse. The best Belgian was Maxime Martin (WRT-BMW with Valentino Rossi and Raffaele Marciello) in fourth place. Fred Vervisch sent a new Ford Mustang to P10 with Mies and Olsen. Public meeting – Niels Reynvoet (Citroën) was the best in the TAC Race, the second round of division 2 of the Belgian Championship. He was leading from start to finish. Cédric Cherain left the track early and gave up, leaving Vincent Verschueren (Citroën) in second place. Gunther Monnens (Porsche) was sixth overall and GTs winner. However, he lost another minute in the final test due to a flat tire. But Patrick Snijers (Porsche) met the same fate.

APRIL 5

GT- Fourteen Belgians there are Le Castellet at the beginning of Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS, as the European Championships are officially called. Kobe Pauwels, John de Wilde, Esteban Muth, Nicolas Baert, Sam Dejonghe and Matisse Lismont drive Aston Martins from Comtoyou. Gilles Magnus and Ugo de Wilde drive the Audi R8 from Sainteloc. At WRT, Dries Vanthoor and Charles Weerts share a BMW M4 with Sheldon van der Linde, and Maxime Martin another with Valentino Rossi and Raffaele Marciello. Father Louis and son Jef Machiels compete in a Ferrari 296 from AF Corse, alongside Andrea Bertolini. Fred Vervisch debuts in Proton’s Ford Mustang with Christopher Mies and Dennis Olsen. The highlight of the championship is the 24 Hours of Business (29-30 June).

Circuit Zolder – The new season starts this weekend at Circuit Zolder. Belcar will remain in the stable until May 19, but during the Terlaemen Cup you will get a free taste of the BGDC 100 Series, the European Lotus Cup and the 7-hour endurance race with 2CVs and Citroen C1s.

3 APRIL

rallyraid – Lummenaar Stefan Carmans (Revo 1+ with Red Line) starts today in Portugal in the third round of the World Rally Raid Championship (W2RC). His co-pilot is not Arjan van Tiel, but the Dutchman Wouter de Graaff, who came in at the last minute. Other Belgians at the start of Grandola are the brothers Guillaume de Mévius (Overdrive-Toyota) and Ghislain de Mévius (OT3). The participation of the winner of the Dakar Carlos Sainz is known. After parting ways with Audi, the F1 driver’s father got a Mini on X-Raid and looks set to compete for a world title after all. Other players who did well in the game are Nasser Al-Attiyah (BRX), Lucas Moraes (Toyota), Seth Quintero (Toyota), Guerlain Chicherit (Toyota) and Yazeed Al Rajhi (Toyota). GT – Kobe Pauwels The first round of GT Endurance takes place at Le Castellet this weekend. He will share the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 from Comtoyou with Dutchman Job van Uitert and our colleague John de Wilde. The plan is for one race at the moment, but there is a chance he will run the entire championship. Pauwels’ main program this year is the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux, for which he will test with NGT on Wednesday at Zandvoort.

APRIL 1

F4 – Our hometown So Stevenheydens, Member of the RACB National Team, has started his season in French F4 with two poles, a win and two fastest laps at the Nogaro circuit. In race 2 he finished 8th. (mc)
