The famous Le Mans 24h will also be the focus of sports car racing in 2025. As usual, the classic edition on the French Sarthe is scheduled for June. The event lasts several days.
The 24 Hours of Le Mans is one of the most prestigious events in international motorsport. This event not only includes the actual race, but also starts a few days earlier – also in 2025. The organizer of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest has already given a preliminary overview of the time schedule of when there will be something to see. (All statements without guarantee).
The technical inspection (called Le Pesage) will start on 6 June 2025 (i.e. Friday). This will take place on the Place de la République in the center of Le Mans – and will continue until June 7, 2025. On June 8, 2025 there will be the first stage on the 13.626 km long “Circuit de la Sarthe”. Then the official test day is scheduled, which runs over two sessions.
From June 11, 2025 (that is Wednesday) things will be fine. The first free practice for the 24-hour race begins and qualifying is already underway. The supporting series of races (in 2025 these are Mustang Challenge, Road to Le Mans and Porsche Sprint Challenge) should also get track time. A second free training session is scheduled for the evening.
Thursday (June 12, 2025) will see the so-called hyperpole. This will have a new format in 2025 and the top starting positions of the individual classes will be used for the 24-hour race. There are also free third and fourth practice sessions.
There will be action again on Friday (June 13, 2025) – but only from the Mustang Challenge and the Porsche Sprint Challenge – i.e. from the two support rows. Basically, on Friday in Le Mans the focus is on the fans and various activities in the city and nearby villages. A short warm-up will be held on Saturday (June 14, 2025) before the 24-hour race starts at 4 p.m. But even before the start there are some special celebrations and amazing performances.
