The second free practice on Wednesday is the first night practice for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Teams use it to get their drivers to complete the mandatory five laps, which is why we saw a few incidents. However, we were able to record a typical Belgian success, as Laurens Vanthoor recorded the fastest time in Porsche 963 #6. The top five was completed by Ferrari #51, Porsche #5, Cadillac #2 and Toyota #7.

The all-Belgian DKR Oreca #43 set the fifth fastest time in LMP2 thanks to Maxime Martin. The Brussels resident managed the first part of the session and then handed over the wheel to Tom Van Rompuy. He completed eleven laps without any major problems, after which Ugo De Wilde was in the car until just before midnight. Another teammate in LMP2, Dries Vanthoor, placed ninth in the Turkish Racing Team Oreca #923.
Alessio Picariello (Iron Lynx Porsche #60) was second fastest in GTE: “The fastest time was not really the main goal, we are very busy preparing for the race.” The sister Porsche #85 of the Iron Dames, in which we also see Sarah Bovy, finished sixth. AF Corse Ferrari #21 of Ulysse De Pauw was 16th, Proton Porsche #16 of Jan Heylen 19th.
