Maserati GranCabrio Folgore: up to 830 hp of electric power and a weight of 2,340 kg

After revealing, at the beginning of March 2024, the GranCabrio, the petrol version without the roof of the GranTurismo, Maserati presents the GranCabrio Folgore, the name “Folgore” corresponding to the 100% electric engines of the Trident brand. In “MaxBoost” mode, the Maserati GranCabrio Folgore can reach 610 kW/830 hp, knowing that the so-called “standard” power of the large and elegant Italian convertible is delivered at 560 kW/760 hp, with a torque of 1,350 Nm. .

So, the new Maserati GranCabrio Folgore electric car is a roofless version of the GranTurismo Folgore, a 100% electric convertible and a coupe that uses the same engine. The latter is composed of 3 motors of 300 kW each, which provide, in total, 560 kW/760 hp of low power.. Electric power is provided by a battery with a capacity of 92.5 kWh (83 kWh useful).

To ensure good freedom, The power of the GranCabrio Folgore, similar to the GranTurismo Folgore, is therefore limited to 560 kW/760 hp. You don’t need to be a mathematician to understand this, because 3 x 300 kW = 900 kW. In terms of performance, this gives a 0 to 100 km/h achieved in 2.8 seconds and 290 km/h top speed.

In the great convertible tradition, the Maserati GranCabrio Folgore is equipped with a canvas hat which can be retracted or electrified in just 15 seconds. However, beyond the 100% electric power of the new Maserati convertible, what interests us, to a large extent, is represented by its independence.

While the GranTurismo Folgore coupe electric car weighs 2,260 kg on the scale, Maserati GranCabrio Folgore communicates with a weight of 2,340 kgthe fault of the reinforcement given to its chassis and its structure.
