At least three individuals were killed in a vehicle crash on Interstate 90 in Washington state on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred near mile marker 14, near the town of Easton.
Washington State Patrol officers investigating the accident reported that a northbound automobile collided with a southbound semi-truck, resulting in the deaths of the three occupants of the car. The motorist of the truck was uninjured.
The identities of the individuals killed in the crash have yet to be released by the Washington State Patrol, pending notification of next of kin. However, an initial report speculated that the automobile was carrying four passengers.
The Interstate was closed for approximately four hours while law enforcement personnel conducted an accident scene analysis. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
The loss of life caused by this tragic accident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers faced by travelers on Washington state roads and highways. Motorists are urged to exercise caution and adhere to all traffic laws when operating a vehicle.
