Europe named best seller. Some things don’t change

Tesla Model Y, entering 2024, could not maintain its market leadership position. The sales charts have a new leader, although this model has already managed to establish itself well at the top.

The year 2023 in Europe, at least in the context of sales, was dominated by the Tesla Model Y. The electric crossing from the United States, especially in the first months, was the model chosen frequently throughout the Old Continent. Ultimately, it also turned out to be the best seller throughout the 12 months.

However, Elon Musk’s brand woes and shortness of breath at the end of the year gave hope to the competition, which already had the ability to usurp the Model Y in the lineup. The latest statistics prepared by the Dataforce center show that the beginning of 2024 is more than European producers. However, the cars we’ve seen at the top are often still at the top.

So can we say that Dacia Sandero can safely move forward towards maintaining the leadership? Not amust. Although the benefits may seem good at the moment, close rivals do not give up.

This can be seen in the March data, in which the order of the podiums was changed. However, you must admit that the differences between the three most popular European types were very small:

  • Tesla Model Y: 26 122 ex.
  • Volkswagen Golf: 25 423 ex.
  • Dacia Sandero: 25,059 models.
