The Fisker Pear is an affordable Tesla rival with a transparent A-pillar

The Fisker Pear is an American electric car that is a compact crossover in an as-yet unknown space for Tesla. The EV will only hit the market in mid-2025, but we already know better what the production model will look like.

The Fisker Pear is packed with amazing features. A little like its big brother, the Fisker Ocean. This electric SUV will appear on the market next year and can be purchased in the Netherlands from 43,990 euros. Nicely within the terms of the SEPP, an EV subsidy of 2,950 euros (also in 2024) for new electric vehicles. A direct competitor to the Model Y in terms of price and size.

Tesla’s dirt cheap competitor

The Fisker pear should go down there. With its length of 4.5 meters, the American EV is about 25 centimeters shorter than the Tesla Model Y. Elon Musk’s brand still does not have any EVs in this segment. In the US, the Pear is available from $29,900, which is less than 27,500 euros.

Of course, the European price is not just a matter of using the exchange rate, but it gives an indication. Moreover, the German award, which was announced before the IAA in Munich, is not far away. You can buy Pears from our eastern neighbors from 32,900 euros.

The prices of Teslas are (largely) the same in the Netherlands and Germany, which indicates that the same price tag can also be expected for the Dutch market. This electric vehicle will also be eligible for the EV subsidy.

Amazing features of Fisker Pear

For that money you can buy an entry-level car with a small WLTP range of just 320 km. However, four versions of Tesla’s competitor are available with different battery packs. Depending on the version, the range increases to a maximum of 560 km.

Whichever version you buy, you will get amazing features. Think about it Houdini Trunk, trunk lid that disappears into the rear bumper. A bit like the BMW Z1 doors. And like the Fiat Multipla, you can sit up front with three people, making it a six-seater.

This performance was already known. In Los Angeles, however, Tesla’s competitor has now presented the production-ready Fisker Pear and there were surprises from its bag of tricks. For example, the cameras on the doors (which we saw in the press photos) have been replaced by traditional mirrors.

However, you will find screens on the interior on the left and right side of the dashboard. However, these perform a different function: the A-pole is transparent. The screens make up what is hidden behind the A-pillar. Well, moving your head slightly to the side is definitely not an option.

Half of you want an electric car, but on one condition…
