Updated Audi Q7 and Q8 get a wider range of plug-in electric driving (2024)

The Audi Q7 and Q8 have received a facelift – indeed: for the second time. It featured new front and rear bumpers and updated technology, but one piece of technology was still missing. For example, both SUVs were no longer available as plug-in hybrids since the facelift, but that is now changing.

Bigger battery

The plug-in hybrid is again available in two flavors: as 55 TFSI e and as 60 TFSI e. Under the hood, both get the same 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine as before the facelift, good for 340 hp. It is supported by a compact electric motor with a maximum power of 177 hp and 460 Nm of torque. A new liquid-cooled and more powerful battery is located under the trunk floor with a capacity of 25.9 kWh and offers a range of up to 90 km. Charging is still carried out at a maximum rate of 7.4 kW, and therefore takes approximately 3 hours 45 minutes.

The system power of both models also gets a boost. The TFSI 55 now delivers 394 hp compared to 381 hp previously. This allows you to go from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.7 seconds, but if that is not enough, there is also a more powerful 60 TFSI e quattro. It has received a new electric motor and, with the six-cylinder, this gives a system output of 490 hp, or 34 hp more than before the facelift. This means that it can reach 100 km / h in 5 seconds.
