Can an electric car be treated as a hothatch? An increasing number of companies are moving in this direction. We have just written about the Alpine A290, and today we can enjoy the new product from Spain. Cupra Born VZ 2024 is the top version of this model. We don’t just get a more powerful car – a number of changes have also been brought to the chassis.

Cupra Born VZ has a new battery with a capacity of 79 kWh. Access is not a priority here

Officially, the range is 570 kilometers per charge, which is a good result. This is supported by the already mentioned new battery, which delivers 79 kWh (ie 2 kWh more than before). The changes aren’t dramatic, but the higher energy density of the new design translates into better performance. The maximum charging power has increased to 170 kW.

The second novel is the engine. Here we get as much as 326 HP and 545 Nm to use, and all this goes only to the rear axle. However, there is no indication that flying sideways will be easy – you will probably have to pull the right fuse. It’s a shame, because an impressive rear swivel in a sports car would be highly recommended!

Cupra has introduced several modifications to the chassis, including: Suspension of DCC. It has slightly different settings and works with a slightly modified wheel geometry. The benefits? Better traction, greater stability and improved steering precision. In addition, Born got a slightly different brake pedal, giving better feel.

The VZ version got two new colors

These were kept only for variety. This is about Midnight shadows of the Black and Dark Forest. The top version can also be identified by its unique 20-inch aluminum rims.

In the interior, the first new media, with a screen of 12.9 inches. Another new feature is a sound system developed by Senheiser with a power of 425 watts.

Although new Cupra Born VZ has already seen the light of day, it will appear in showrooms only by the end of the year. Production will start in the third quarter of 2024, and the date of release on the Polish market is not yet known. The price, of course, will be higher than the current one of the Birth.
