This 1971 Buick Riviera in tribute to Guy Lafleur can be yours

Notice to lovers of fine vintage cars and hockey: a meticulously restored 1971 Buick Riviera built in honor of Guy Lafleur can be yours.

PG Evaluation, a Blainville company specializing in vintage and collectible car appraisals, is the project manager and is organizing the draw that will be held on May 5 in front of the statue of the Blonde Demon in Quebec.

Tickets can be purchased for $150 by visiting the company’s Facebook page. The money raised will go to the Guy Lafleur Fund for cancer research.

After being seen recently Montreal Auto Show, the car is currently on display at the Paillé store in Berthierville. Note the “FLWRPWR” poster of Flower Power (Guy Lafeur’s English nickname) in the background.

Remember that the late hockey player was given the 1971 Riviera as a gift on the ice of the Colisée de Québec before the final game of the President’s Cup, when he was playing for the Remparts in the Quebec Junior Hockey League. The car was in the team’s colors: vintage red with a white interior and a white vinyl roof. Lafleur kept it for several years.

It turns out that the owner of PG Appraisal, Pierre Grenon, also had a Riviera of the same year and the same color.
