A luxury electric car inspired by the moon

After rumors recently surfaced that Genesis is being slowed down by parent company Hyundai when it comes to e-mobility, the luxury brand is now presenting a different picture. Genesis has now launched a new concept car and a new performance series of its electric vehicles, based on the Neolun Concept. A fully electric SUV that is destined to represent a new era of mobility. One could almost assume this is a preview of the GV90, which will be the first vehicle based on the group’s planned eM platform.

The name “Neolun” is confusing “neo” for new and “luna” to Mond, which underscores Genesis’ desire to set new technological standards with this vehicle. Inspired by Korean culture and craftsmanship, the Neolun Concept represents a fusion of forward-thinking design and traditional values. Luc Donckerwolke, the creative mind behind Genesis, explains that the inspiration for the Neolun Concept comes from traditional, moon-shaped Korean porcelain vessels. This design feature is reflected in the clear and minimal design of the car, where unnecessary details have been left out on purpose.

The beginning

A striking feature of the Neolun Concept is the absence of B-pillars, which is due to the use of “Scissor Doors” it is possible. This design not only contributes to the feeling of spaciousness, but also aims to make access to the car easier. The integration of straight side steps helps with entry and exit, while the seamless design of the front and rear body lights gives the SUV a powerful look. The integration of the break light into the detailed design also contributes to the minimalist design. Color combination “Midnight Black” and “Big Blue” it gives the car a very elegant look.

The luxury brand itself has ensured that the feeling of Korean hospitality culture continues inside the car. The interior is designed to provide passengers with the highest level of comfort and relaxation. The modern heating system, based on the traditional Korean “Ondol” heat, distributes the heat evenly throughout the car. What we already know from the Kia EV9, for example, are the swivel seats. These are intended to increase flexibility and comfort for passengers. A large, adjustable display with a folding display that folds from the back of the rear seat provides entertainment and information.

It’s no surprise that the Neolun Concept sound system is designed to create a concert hall-like listening experience. The speaker placement in the car has been optimized to ensure better sound quality. Regarding the technical data, Genesis has not yet commented on Neolun’s Genesis Concept.
