Yes, you read that right: the GMC Yukon is coming to Australia in right-hand drive configuration. GMSV recently took to social media to share a few images of the new model, along with a few words from GM Australia & New Zealand Managing Director Jess Bala, who confirmed it will be launched in the first half of next year.
“The GMC Yukon Denali has been a Premoso for a few months as we begin the rebuilding process,“Bala said.”It’s great that another vehicle is joining the GMSV line-up – one that has a full eight-seater and offers good towing capacity. Production of the car after the redesign is progressing very well, and we are on track to deliver the new model to customers in the first half of 2025.“
Official photos shared by GMSV on Facebook a few days ago show the rider with a front and rear. The model features a large grille emblazoned with the GMC logo, new headlights with a new daytime running light signature, and a classic rear end with a few tweaks. The wheels were also wrapped in trippy vinyl stickers, suggesting that these are also new, and the company may also expand the color palette.
Details about the Australian powertrain family are not yet known, but in the US, the current family comes with two petrol and diesel engines. The former includes a pair of V8s, a 5.3L rated at 355 hp and a 6.2L with 420 hp, and the latter brings a 3.0-liter inline-six that produces 277 horsepower. Reports suggest the petrol burners will carry over, and the low-revving engine could be replaced with a new one that should pump out 305 hp.
GMC’s upcoming Yukon is expected to have a few new touches inside, too. After all, it is related to the Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe, and the bowtie company gave them a 17.7-inch infotainment system and an 11-inch digital instrument cluster. Therefore, the 2025 GMC Yukon may also feature these screens as well as possible new features. . We also expect to adjust the trim and upholstery and maybe a few other changes.
Besides the US and Australia, the 2025 GMC Yukon will also arrive in other markets, such as New Zealand and China. For now, the GM-owned company is keeping the unveiling date a secret. However, it is expected to debut in the next few months and go on sale shortly after being revealed as a 2025 model.
