A refreshed GMC Yukon with a new theme is coming

After a complete renovation ofAcadia shed 2024, GMC will turn its attention to Yukon and Theme for the 2025 model year The reveal is set for later this year and the company has released two images showing the storefront to keep us in suspense.

Let’s start with the biggest, which will benefit from a mid-generation update like that Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban 2025. A redesigned grille and headlights will be in the program, and new wheels (up to 24 inches) and other body colors will be in the program.

Also expect a revised suspension, a more powerful Duramax diesel engine (305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft), a redesigned interior and more room for the latest technologies (including surveillance cameras around the car). and possibly new systems intended to facilitate the acquisition and operation of trailers.

The off-road version of the AT4 and luxury Denali will return, with the latter making up more than half of GMC Yukon sales in 2023. Production of the updated 2025 models is expected to begin in late 2024 or earlier this year.

The new generation of terrain

Following in the footsteps of Chevrolet Equinox, the GMC Terrain will also get a facelift for 2025. The changes will be more marked than the Yukon since we are talking about a new generation. This should have a more square and solid look than the outgoing Theme, with increased dimensions.

The 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder engine will remain under the hood, still producing 175 horsepower. It remains to be seen what will happen to the nine-speed automatic transmission. Note that the Equinox has adopted a CVT in front-wheel drive versions and an eight-speed gearbox for those with all-wheel drive.

And you remember plug-in hybrid models that GM promised to bring back in his big list in the short and medium term? An announcement to this effect may finally hit the ground running. Let’s wait and see.

Finally, regarding the interior, the changes will be big. Instead of the same interface as its Chevrolet cousin, instead it will be, if we believe the spy shots circulating online, an 11-inch digital dashboard paired with a 15-inch vertical screen like the one on the new Acadia (below). . The second will have a configurable system and will integrate Google features, such as a voice assistant and navigation on Google Maps.
