With 56 full-time employees, the social center cares for around 500 clients every day in basic care, in medical care, and in home care or in the care of dementia patients. The catchment area is large, it includes Schwalbach, Bous and Ensdorf and all districts. There are many ways to travel, which is why a corresponding number of vehicles are needed.
The donation was made possible by KSK customers participating in the annual savings program of the Saarland Savings Association. The income from this is usually distributed by KSK to charitable organizations in the district at the end of the year. This time is going into the new year.
Every year, around one million euros flows to charities through profit saving in the Saarland, half as car donations. Since the Sparverein was founded, more than 1,600 cars have been found, including more than 300 in the Saarlouis district. Buying savings tickets is also important for Sparkasse customers themselves: in addition to cash or non-cash prizes, there is a car up for grabs every month.
