“Genesis” light show in Erlangen: a Huguenot church with colorful lighting

– Immersive and multimedia architecture in Erlangen’s Huguenot Church “Genesis” is back. Interesting pictures were created there last year – now the project returns today under the name “Beginning II”.

Modern animation meets the last four days of the creation story

The Huguenot Church in Erlangen shines with a new light for the second time thanks to the art group Zurich Projektil and cultural optimists Genesis: The multimedia artwork opens from Thursday, April 11, from 3:30 p.m. .

For 12 euros, visitors can relax on the benches, church pews or on the floor and marvel at the colorful spectacle above them. The light shows four to seven days of the creation story. Through animation, visitors can watch the placement of the stars in the sky and the creation of animals and humans.

Special night price Genesis II

On selected evenings, the art gallery shows a 45-minute version of each day’s creation. The light and video show will also be accompanied live by musicians. One to three days were already shown in “Genesis I”. There, visitors could observe the first glow of light, the creation of the heavens and the world of plants.

The installation takes about 30 minutes and can be viewed until June 9. Proceeds from the light show are intended to benefit the church in need of renovation and open up the old walls as a cultural venue for the city’s community.
