The Alfa Romeo 4C returns in a smaller Abarth version

(Motorsport-Total.com/Motor1) – Alfa Romeo stopped production of the 4C in 2020. But the mid-engined coupe is now making a comeback. Stellantis Heritage is reviving the design to celebrate Abarth’s 75th anniversary with the 1300 OT. It is a modern homage to the Fiat-Abarth OT 1300 from 1965, based on the 4C cars built earlier with low mileage.

By the way, it’s not the first time that 4C makes a surprise comeback, because … Abarth Classiche 1000 SP from 2021 it followed a similar formula. However, it was replaceable. The car shown below was revealed before the FCA Legacy became the Stellantis Legacy following the merger of FCA and PSA. As with the last 4C revival, we’re not entirely impressed with the googly-eyed headlight design. But the taste is different. The rest looks good though. But we’d probably prefer the regular 4C.

The Abarth Classiche 1300 OT has a carbon body. The wide air vent at the rear features eye-catching Abarth lettering. The car ditches the original exhaust pipe and instead relies on a centrally mounted trapezoidal arrangement. You won’t find the Alfa Romeo logo either, as Abarth has replaced it with a scorpion.

Although Abarth jumped on the electric bandwagon with the 500e and 600e, the company still sells the gasoline-powered 500 in several variants. 1300 OT follows this tradition. But only for a short time, as only five copies will be made. Before production begins, a scale model was unveiled at the Stellantis Heritage Hub in Turin over the weekend. Order books are already open, but prices have not yet been announced.
