System 1: Delete the Audi ad – is everything happening faster now?

Everyone should focus on Formula 1 racing, but what happens outside the race is more interesting. It should be clear to everyone by now that Max Verstappen will win his fourth consecutive world title. Even if only five races were completed. That’s why everyone is looking at the driver’s market.

Most contracts expire at the end of the year, and most cockpits in Formula 1 will be available for 2025. Things will also get interesting from 2026 when Audi gets involved. Who will be the new drivers of the German car manufacturer? A decision has already been made and another should be made official as soon as possible.

Formula 1: Is everything clear with Hülkenberg?

Audi has reportedly already secured its first Formula 1 driver in Nico Hülkenberg. According to “Sport1”, both parties should agree to go together from 2025. What is missing is a signature and everything can be made official (more on that here). To be more precise, the official announcement should follow at the end of May.

According to the report, Hülkenberg will get a three-year contract with Audi. He would also meet an old companion: Audi project manager Andreas Seidl. Both know each other from their time together at Porsche. “I know Andi very well. That’s no secret. We understand each other very well and we understand each other very well,” the German emphasized recently.

The decision is said to have already been made. Now Audi also needs a second driver. In addition to Hülkenberg, another Formula 1 driver has been linked with the company in recent weeks. A decision should now be made quickly for him as well.

Audi is putting pressure on Sainz

The pilot is Carlos Sainz. The Spaniard will drive for Ferrari until the end of the year and will then be replaced by Lewis Hamilton from 2025. Sainz is currently without a team. But those who are interested are already lined up. Is that also the reason why Sainz hasn’t decided yet?

More information for you:

Audi is now putting pressure on the Madrilenian. Seidl wants an answer from Sainz by mid-May. If he has not made a decision, Audi then wants to talk to other drivers. Perhaps this also includes the two Frenchmen Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon. Their contracts also expire at the end of the year. Current Sauber drivers Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu have absolutely no chance. Neither have a role in the future plans of the car company.
