ABT CUPRA misses podium at Extreme E opener by just half a second

In the inaugural event of the Extreme E championship, the CUPRA XE team narrowly missed out on a podium finish, finishing just half a second behind third-place finishers.

At the start of the season, the CUPRA XE team was determined to make a splash in the highly competitive Extreme E series. Unfortunately, their hopes of a podium finish were dashed when they missed out by a mere 0.5 seconds.

The course was a technical one, with a number of tight turns, steep hills, and challenging terrain. The CUPRA XE team had worked hard in the practice sessions, and had the third fastest lap time in qualifying.

However, when it came to the race itself, a few small errors cost them dearly. A slow start off the line meant they were playing catch-up from the beginning, and a couple of minor mistakes in the latter stages of the race meant that they missed out on the podium.

Despite the disappointment of missing out on a podium finish by such a small margin, the CUPRA XE team can take heart from the fact that they were competitive throughout the weekend. With a few tweaks and improvements, they will be looking to mount a stronger challenge when the Extreme E series continues.
