test with 1,300 hp BMW M4 goes very badly

Maximum PSI is an apt name for a tuner who painstakingly found the top of his BMW M4 during a dynamometer test. It all became too much for the well-organized German, and then he destroyed himself in spectacular fashion.

In the attempt to build the BMW M4 racing monster, everything was spared, MaximumPSI explains. The standard turbo of the S58 engine block has now been replaced by two large Garrett turbos.

A highly refined BMW M4

The standard intercooler was also no longer enough, so MaximumPSI used a grinder on the front bumper of the BMW M4 to make room for a special inlet and another air intake. To be able to handle the intended power, the rest of the train was also modified.

It’s time to build a powerful BMW M4. There was a rush, because just two days later MaximumPSI wanted to participate in a drag racing event. After a few runs on the chassis dynamometer, the sports coupe produced more than 1,300 hp at the wheels. When the tuner wanted to increase the number a little further with the injection of nitrous oxide, disaster struck.

Wow, the beautiful Honda S2000 is totaled on the highway

The heart of the BMW M4 exploded in a strange way. All kinds of painful (and expensive) noises can be heard. The end result: a completely destroyed engine. You can see photos of the dynamometer disaster test below.

However the story does not end there. We worked tirelessly to reassemble the BMW M4. The MaximumPSI team tore the block apart to see what could be salvaged and ordered a shipment of new parts. Miraculously, the tuner is able to put together a new block before the start of the drag racing event.

Worldly success

There was no time left to test the reborn BMW M4 on the dynamometer again, which meant that interesting results during the drag race were not achieved. However, it is already a worldly success that MaximumPSI got the BMW beaten up and running again in no time.
