Accident in Zwingen BL: head-on collision between a PW and a delivery van

On Thursday (05/25/23) there was an accident between a car and a lorry in Zwingen (Baselstrasse).

On Thursday afternoon, May 25, 2023, at 4:30 am, a collision between a passenger car and a lorry occurred on Baselstrasse in Zwingen BL. No people were injured.

According to the findings of the Basel-Landschaft police so far, the 59-year-old driver drove his gray Peugeot, coming from Basel, on Baselstrasse in Zwingen towards Laufen.

Shortly before the Weyermattweg/Baselstrasse intersection on the right, for reasons that have not yet been fully explained, he drove his Peugeot on the left side of the lane.

As a result, he collided head-on with a white pickup truck that was well positioned in the left “oncoming” lane.

No people were injured in the collision. Extensive property damage was caused to both vehicles – they had to be loaded and transported by a towing company.

Baselstrasse had to be closed for a short time while the facts were recorded and the vehicles involved in the accident were found. This caused traffic delays during rush hours.
