Perivola’s morning practice was full of drama. In the race it was a little calmer, although the Rally1 hybrid cars are getting hotter.
Oes was won by Dani Sordo and Candido Carrera. Ott Tanak and Martin Jarveoja lost 1.7 seconds. Elfin Evans and Scott Martin completed the three [+3 s]. Rally leaders Thierry Neuville and Martijn Wydaeghe were 6.1 seconds worse.
– Fresh. I was on the line the whole time. Let’s see what about tires. It may not be easy for the next one, said Sordo.
“All right, but we have to go,” Evans reported.
Problems with the fuel pump stopped Lappi’s Esapekka and Janne Ferma. The Toyota crew is trying to complete the SS, but the loss has already exceeded 10 minutes.
Craig Breen and Paul Ghafla finished the session for the fifth time [+8,7 s]. Pierre-Louis Loubet and Vincent Landais – reporting car problems – were six [+10,2 s]. Takamoto Katsuta and Aaron Johnston drove away from Sordo by 14.9 seconds.
“Okay, but I have to go,” Breen said quickly.
– Not very good. We tease a few things,’ revealed Loubet.
– The heat doesn’t bother me, but the hybrid does. He turned off – reported Katsuta.
One step before the end of the day, Neuville leads. Tanak is down 34.2 seconds and Sordo 42.9 seconds. Evans is fourth [+15,3 s]and Loubet rounds out the top five [+2.16,7].
