The #10 ARX-06 sister duo of Filipe Albuquerque and Ricky Taylor are looking for Long Beach redemption after crashing out while battling for the lead with two laps to go in the 2023 repeat of the event. The WTRAndretti drivers will start their charge from number eight on the grid.

Quote
Jordan Taylor (#40 Wayne Taylor Racing and Andretti Acura ARX-06) Graduated six: “We had limited running in practice today, due to the tire allocation for this weekend (teams were short of three new sets of tires for the weekend race) so most of our runs in practice were for race preparation, rather in qualifying. We saw other people using the second set of tires in practice and maybe that was an equalizing advantage, but our aim was to play the long game and find a good package for the race, hopefully this (strategy) will pay off for us tomorrow.”

Quick Things

  • Acura and its performance division, Honda Racing Corporation USA, have recorded a total of nine sports car victories at the Long Beach Grand Prix, second only to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for Acura and HRC US.
  • This total includes three Long Beach wins for Acura, and six under the HPD (now HRC US) umbrella. All those wins came in a six-year streak from 2008-13, and included “double wins” (wins in LMP1 and LMP2) in 2009, 2012 and 2013.
  • HPD was renamed HRC US in January to reflect the company’s new role in Honda’s global racing efforts. With this change, HRC US will play a larger role in Honda’s global motorsports activities.
