The Honda NSX that belonged to the famous Formula 1 driver, Ayrton Senna, has reportedly been sold in A car dealer.

Cars of this nature are usually sold through major auction houses, but the car’s current owner, Robert McFagan, wanted to sell it through a popular British classifieds website. It is listed at a sale price of 500,000 British pounds (about $622,000). That’s a natural mark of ownership, as a similar NSX goes for less than $100,000.

McFagan said he took the car in 2013 during a trip to the Algarve region of Portugal. The car is one of three original NSX models regularly driven by Senna. It was registered for the first time in 1991 and used by the three-time world champion when he was in Portugal. Senna, whose McLaren F1 team was then using Honda power units, also regularly drove two additional NSX models. Both were black. One was in Brazil and the other was also in Portugal.

Senna was often seen with a red NSX while in Portugal, and the car was also featured in the 1992 Senna film “Racing is in my Blood.” It has just 39,100 miles on the clock, and McFagan is believed to be only the second owner.

The original NSX, which like the last NSX was sold in the US as Acura, has a deeper connection to the Senna than just its company car. During development, Honda turned to its motorsport program for tuning strategies. Senna was part of the program and lent many hours of his time to make the NSX the great driving machine it has proven to be.

He persuaded the engineers to further strengthen the chassis, gave his opinion on the suspension tuning, and pushed the car hard on several tracks, including the Nürburgring. It’s safe to say, the Senna is part of the reason why the original NSX was so good.

Now you can buy a model that has been owned and driven by yourself. This is a rare opportunity, for fans of the original NSX and motorsports alike, but it comes at a high price.
