Acura Teams Fight to the Finish at Sebring

Acura’s racing teams took their fight to the finish at the 12 Hours of Sebring, an endurance race that would determine the winners of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The Acura NSX GT3s of Meyer Shank Racing and Michael Shank Racing with Curb-Agajanian were on the cusp of a historic victory for the Japanese marque.

Meyer Shank Racing’s No. 86 Acura NSX GT3 began the race from pole position, and the team delivered a stellar performance over the duration of the 12-hour race, with drivers Alvaro Parente, Katherine Legge and Trent Hindman at the wheel. The trio worked together in perfect harmony to take on the challenging Sebring International Raceway, and it paid off – the No. 86 Acura NSX GT3 crossed the finish line first in the GTD class.

Michael Shank Racing with Curb-Agajanian’s No. 93 Acura NSX GT3 was not far behind. Driven by Justin Marks, Lawson Aschenbach and Mario Farnbacher, the team fought hard throughout the race, and the No. 93 Acura NSX GT3 finished second in the GTD class, just 0.527 seconds behind their sister car.

The Acura teams’ strong finishes in the 12 Hours of Sebring resulted in a 1-2 finish for the marque in the GTD class. This is a significant accomplishment for Acura and a testament to the dedication and hard work of the teams. Both Meyer Shank Racing and Michael Shank Racing with Curb-Agajanian can be proud of their accomplishments at Sebring, and Acura will be looking forward to the next race in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
