Cupra Born VZ: 325 hp for the new version of the electric sports car

Cupra is upgrading the Cupra Born with the new VZ version of the Veloz. Thus, the electric sports car “technical cousin” of the Volkswagen ID.3 increases to 325 hp and 545 Nm of torque, compared to 230 hp for the “simple” Cupra Born. Cupra engineers have also improved the Born VZ on various mechanical levels.

In terms of design, the Cupra Born VZ remains close to the 230 hp model. In addition to the “VZ” logo that appears on the body of this “sporty” electric car, this new 325 hp version benefits from the unique “Esterel Green” color. Note that another new color ‘Midnight Black’ can also be selected for the Born VZ, as well as the less powerful Borns.

Added to this, on the Cupra Born VZ, are special rims, with a new design, measuring 20 inches, knowing that the tire assembly has been adjusted to get wider, with the aim of increasing 325 hp and 545 Nm of torque on the pavement. .

Inside the Cupra Born VZ, there is a new, larger 12.9″ screen that is accompanied by a rear touch control bar, this one for climate and audio settings. As an option, on this Born VZ, we get a new powerful 425 W sound system (10 speakers) provided by Sennheiser.

Mechanically, beyond its great power advantage, the Cupra Born VZ has been modified on all levels: more precise handling, stronger suspension and brake pedal adjustment adjusted for better feel.

In other figures, those of the performance and battery of the Spanish electric car, the Cupra Born VZ of 320 hp reaches 0 to 100 km / h in 5.7 s and can reach 200 km / h (160 km / h for the other Born. of 230 HP). Born VZ “stack” is optimized to get 2 kWh in net capacity (79 kWh). The same battery can be recharged, at home, using a Wallbox (alternative current of 11 kW) and also at a fast charging station (direct current – up to 170 kW). In the latter case, it takes only 30 minutes to recover from 10 to 80% battery (range: 570 km in WLTP combined).

Finally, the Cupra Born VZ electric car will be launched on the car market next June, at a price that has not yet been revealed. As luck would have it, the 100% electric Alpine A290 will also be revealed, down to the smallest details, next June.
