Exploring the great wilderness of Utah

The four-day Bugatti Grand Tour America 2023 started from The Lodge at Blue Sky in Park City – a luxury resort built at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains and the beauty of Silver Creek – towards the vast sand dunes of Moab. . The first stop, Helper, Utah, is where visitors discover the irresistible beauty of the 1924 Conoco Center. Beautifully restored to its former glory, the landmark stands as a unique preserve for historic Helper Highway.

From the venerable Conoco Center, twenty Bugatti sports cars enjoyed the incredible scenery and the unique sound of W16 engines towards Ulum Moab, an outdoor resort located in the middle of 200 acres of unspoiled desert terrain. A fantastic day of driving saw Bugatti’s masterpieces create a remarkable road-going fusion of unbridled energy, presence and wanderlust – rare elements and emotional qualities that cars from Molsheim display like nothing else.

As evening fell, guests enjoyed a lovely night under the bright stars, with a delicious dinner complementing the organic setting. The crackling of the wood burning fireplace added to the cozy evening atmosphere as the moon rose in the night sky.

Moab to Aspen in tough conditions

The next morning, as the sun rose over the desert, an intrepid group of Bugatti owners took their place behind the wheels of their super sports cars, ready for another day of exciting vistas. But what would happen shortly after hitting the road led to an unexpected increase in the spirit of adventure. Heavy rain – and later that day even snow – fell from above, the road from Ulum to Aspen through Gateway Canyon, which is connected by beautiful red and black rocks, was given a more sinister and mysterious touch.

While the Bugatti sports car combines high performance, high-end luxury and craftsmanship, a strong approach to safety and overall reliability is equally important to the brand’s values. This feature was quickly evident on the second day of the Grand Tour America, with advanced safety technologies helping drivers safely negotiate dangerous road conditions. Following an elegant reception and dinner at a private luxury home with stunning views of the city, the evening’s destination was the Hotel Jerome; a good place for visitors to rest for the night before the last day of the tour. Originally built in 1889 as a North American competitor to the Ritz in Paris, Hotel Jerome is today seen by many as the heart of Aspen, with its timeless architecture and authentic character.

Beautiful Aspen scenery

With the inclement weather in Aspen maintaining a level of brutality that made driving challenging, plans for the next day’s Bugatti Grand Tour America also had to be made. A private lunch at Clarke’s Oyster Bar in Aspen awaited Bugatti customers, but first a private shopping event was organized at Hermès. As soon as the dark clouds began to settle in the afternoon sky, some of the Bugatti Grand Tour America community took the opportunity to experience the excitement of their unique high-performance sports cars, taking them to the mountain roads of Aspen.

In one of the final successes, the group gathered at the famous Kemo Sabe shop in Aspen to help create their ‘Western’ mountain hats, before changing for a celebratory dinner at ‘Catch’. And with that, Bugatti’s spectacular and incredible 608-mile experience across the American West was complete. For Bugatti customers, the unforgettable car had come to a fitting end.

“It is in Bugatti’s DNA to offer our customers an experience that is truly unmatched. And the Bugatti Grand Tour America is just that – a special and exclusive experience that only a brand like Bugatti can create for its guests. The Bugatti Grand Tour combines the events of excitement, performance and luxury, despite the challenges and bad weather. The camaraderie and spirit of our Bugatti guests has been wonderful to watch and be a part of. Our guests have made memories on this tour that will last a lifetime, with Bugatti stories and Bugatti legends being passed down from one generation to the next.
