Since then, the Bavarian sedan has featured a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch infotainment screen combined into one curved unit, facing the driver. The gearbox is operated by a “trigger” instead of the usual lever, while the choice of upholstery and accessories is large, especially if you rely on the individual BMW catalog.

Despite the different external dimensions, the trunk volume of the two sedans is the same at least 480 liters (375 liters for the 3 Series hybrid).

Engine

The Giulia range consists exclusively of non-electric petrol and diesel engines. The first includes the 2.0 Turbo Q4 with 280 hp, and in Germany there is also a 2.2 diesel Q4 with 210 hp. The top of the model range is the Quadrifoglio with 2.9 V6, 520 hp and a top speed of 307 km/h.

The BMW 3 Series offers the most variety: petrol engines from 156 to 374 hp, including the M3 with 480 hp, 510 hp in the M3 Competition and 550 hp M3 CS. Only in the M340i and M3 models there is an inline six cylinder. The diesel range ranges from 150 to 190 and 286 hp to 340 hp in the M340d xDrive. Like the 330d, it’s a six-cylinder. There are also plug-in hybrids of 204 and 292 hp.

Giulia prices in Germany start at 53,300 euros for the Sprint and 210 hp diesel including the all-wheel drive Q4 and range up to 92,500 euros for the Quadrifoglio. The Sprint already includes LED matrix lights, front and rear parking sensors and a reversing camera, 18-inch alloy wheels and dual-zone climate control.

For the 3 Series, the local price list starts at 45,200 euros for the 156 hp 318i petrol engine and goes up to 100,300 euros for the M3 Competition xDrive. The M3 CS at the moment (April 4, 2024) it is not in the German configuration last time it cost 146,000 euros. The 318i comes with LED headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, three-zone automatic climate control and front and rear parking sensors. Both the Alfa Romeo and the BMW have an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard.
