Just before the start of the festive season, we have seen special launches from Jeep, Skoda, Renault, Audi, MG and Mercedes-Benz in September. These are nothing but limited editions or special editions of existing models that get some enhancements and features to create excitement in the market, where sales begin to peak.
For the customer, this means exciting times ahead if you’re in the market for a new car. Here are all the special edition cars launched from September 2023:
Jeep Compass and Meridian
Jeep has launched the Compass Black Edition in India. This comes with a black Jeep logo, Black Shark badge on the front fenders and 18-inch black alloys. Meanwhile the lower parts of the SUV are finished in gloss black as well and the roof and body covers finish the body color. Take a closer look at the updates made here.
Meanwhile, the Meridian Overland version is based on the top-of-the-line Limited Plus model and gets exterior updates such as newaloi, body-colored covers and a revised grille as well as some interior updates, which are detailed here.
Both of these continue to be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The Compass also comes in a 2WD AT trim which has lowered the diesel entry point of the Compass.

Renault Kiger, Triber and Kwid
Renault has launched an Urban Black Edition for its Kiger, Triber and Kwid. Only 300 units each will be produced. This limited edition is based on the last variants and comes with a new black shade on the Kwid and Triber. Kiger is already released with this color option.
These limited edition models come with silver finished plates, pool lights and ambient lighting (only on Kiger). Meanwhile, Renault offers a 9.66-inch Smart Mirror Monitor on the Triber and Kiger. More details on the same, including prices here.
Audi Q5 and Q8
Audi is offering the Q5 Limited in the new Mythos Black color option and the Black Styling Package Plus. This comes with black logos, grille and roof rails. Additionally, the window stripes as well as the border of the single-frame grille are finished in black as well for a sporty look. More details here.
Currently, the popular Q8 Limited Edition is offered in Mythos Black, Glacier White and Daytona Gray color options. On the outside, it gets the S-line package which includes Audi’s signature black single-frame grille, Matrix LED headlights and black roof rails. The car rides on 21-inch graphite gray alloys. Check out more details here.
MG Astor Blackstorm
The MG Astor Blackstorm comes with a black paint treatment both inside and out. MG has specified this limited edition with black alloy wheels, grille, door sills, fenders, headlights and roof rails as well as Blackstorm badging. Meanwhile, the brake calipers are painted red in comparison.
The interior gets jet-black upholstery with red stitching on the seats, steering wheel and door trims. MG has given red accents to the AC vents and the seats come with a checkered pattern fabric insert. Click this link for more information on this variant.
A large version of the Mercedes G63
Only 25 units of the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG Grand Edition have been offered in India. This will probably be one of the last few models before the updated version from next year. Existing Maybach, S-Class and Mercedes-AMG customers will get first dibs on the G63 Grand Edition.
This limited edition comes with a few cosmetic updates such as black-black exterior and highlights in Kalahari Gold Magno. Meanwhile inside, there is an all-black theme with gold accents. Black Nappa leather is used for the seats with gold stitching. Check it out in all its glory here.
These limited edition models offer exclusivity from regular variants and customers can enjoy better offers. Also, the festive season isn’t over yet and we suspect more special edition models are on the way. Let us know which of these you would like if you are looking for a new car.
