Kia Sorento is full of information. And it’s also a diesel

The fourth generation Sorento, Kia’s D SUVit presents itself with a new look and new contents, even if it actually looks like a new model compared to the past, starting from the revised front and the interior with two large screens on the dashboard for a total of 24.6 inches. , divided into 12.3 inches for the traditional dashboard and others that include navigation and all the modern functions in terms of connections.

A stylistic step forward for this fourth generation (first introduced in 2002) that doesn’t make its dimensions heavier, well over 5 meters in lengthbut which retains agility and off-road characteristics, especially in the 4WD version, capable of overcoming the difficult slopes of the marble quarries in Carrara, the area chosen for the tests.

It’s a surprise made comfort, silence and practicality of use, with plenty of space, especially in the seven-seat configuration, which makes the Sorento a great car for families and for the overall cargo plan. Another gem of the 2024 Sorento is without a doubt the return of the diesel engine to the price list.

The Italian market, especially for this segment, still sees a 57 percent preference for this engine, followed by plug-ins at 10 percent and 5 percent less for traditional hybrids. That is, diesel is still alive and requested by a certain type of customer and so Kia has followed the customer, offering 2.2 four cylinder 194 HP with 2 and 4 wheel drive which is not in the mild hybrid version available in the Sportage.

The engine choice expands with the 215 HP 1600 hybrid gasoline and the 252 HP 1600 Plug-in but only with 4-wheel drive. Instead, there are three versions available: Business, the full entry-level version, then the Style and Evolution with prices start at 47,350 euros for the Diesel Business and reach 68,350 for the Plug-in 4WD Evolution.

There are also new rims, new and with a modern design, which vary in size depending on the configuration chosen: they range from 17 to 19 inches for the Business and Style while the Evolution is only 19 inches.
