In 2022, AMAG also felt the effects of the global crisis in supply chains. Switzerland’s biggest car importer had sales of 4.4 billion francs, up from 4.3 billion in 2021, but still far from the 4.7 billion in the pre-2019 crisis.
Also brands represented by AMAG have not escaped this trend: Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda and Seat/Cupra 71,514 were sold, down 3.8%. However, these brands managed to gain market shares in total, up to 0.5%. Senior management talk about a “challenging but positive” year. This decrease was also recorded at the European level, and the market decreased almost everywhere.
“2022 was a busy year and together with our sales and service partners we managed to keep our customers on the go,” says CEO Helmut Ruhl, who also points to the company’s leading role in the area of sustainable mobility. The existing group Cham (ZG) – which does not publish profit figures – employs 7,300 people.
