It has already been three years since the current generation of Subaru WRX is on the market in 2024. To celebrate the occasion, the Japanese manufacturer will make some changes to the range and will start by adding two versions. Subsequently, the range of the EyeSight driving assistance system is extended to all models. This change does not happen without, of course, applying a small price increase to the whole range. However, major STD damage and some cosmetic changes are missing from the 2024 model year plan.
Two new releases
As Subaru has already announced last season, the 2024 WRX will welcome a new version called the RS. The latter features first the performance and benefits from the Brembo brand brake system, a fine-tuned suspension for better feel and improved handling. Additionally, a set of wheels and tires unique to this trim make the RS stand out from the outside. The interior stands out for its part with the presence of Recaro brand bucket seats in the front.
However, in an official press release, Subaru Canada announces the arrival of a second new version within the WRX lineup in 2024. It’s the GT. This new version replaces the WRX Sport-tech with an automatic gearbox. As it is primarily based on Sport-tech, the GT will add adaptive electronic controls and a function called Drive Mode Select which includes 4 preset driving modes and an individual mode that can be customized by the driver. According to Subaru, these drivetrains will act directly on the suspension, steering, drivetrain and entire powertrain. In terms of aesthetics, this version will be known only with 18-inch rims with a matte gray finish.
Kind of overpriced
With the addition of these two new offerings to the Subaru WRX lineup for the 2024 model year, prices have increased slightly. Five versions, including one that offers two gearbox options, will now be on the programme. The following table will allow you to see the changes that have occurred in the price version for each version.

Maintain your success
The only other major change that the Subaru WRX sees in 2024 is the expanded availability of the Eye system. In fact, this driving assistance system offered by Subaru was only offered to models that benefited from an automatic gearbox. However, the Japanese manufacturer announces in its press release that it will extend this system to all standard versions, including those with a manual gearbox. Apart from these changes, the 2024 Subaru WRX does not benefit from other changes to the existing versions. To please manual transmission fans, Subaru will still offer one of many versions.
As of this writing, Subaru Canada’s online configurator has not been updated for the WRX. In addition, the press release does not mention the arrival date of the 2024 WRX in our market. However, we can assume that this will happen in the next few weeks or months.
