The Citroën AMI has a Valeo engine, or rather a starter, controlled by the small car’s software. The official specification is 5.5 kW of power and a maximum speed of 45 km / h. As it turns out, the car can be easily modified and improve performance, at the cost of increased power consumption.
Citroen AMI is a small four-wheeled vehicle that replaces a scooter or an electric bicycle. It costs less than 10,000 euros and is becoming a popular means of transportation. You can also see it on Polish streets.

The Citroen AMI has an electric motor under the hood, which is actually a 48V Valeo starter. This small unit officially produces 5.5 kW of power, or about 8 HP, and can increase the speed of the small car to 45 km / h. However, not everyone wants to keep the factory performance and modify the software to achieve more.

Citroen AMI after electronic modification reaches 11 HP and the maximum speed exceeds 80 kilometers per hour. However, it is worth remembering that the design of the car is not designed for such speed. Mainly, it’s about security.

Citroen does not offer the AMI model in Poland – at least for now. An attempt to introduce it took place in 2021. Maybe now, under the supervision of the new general director of Stellantis Polska, something will change.
