An exclusive Aston Martin sold for a record price at the AmfAR gala

The AmfAR Gala is always a major event where the biggest stars meet, alongside the two weeks of the Cannes Film Festival. Organized every year in Antibes since 1989, at the Hotel Eden Roc, it allows to raise money for the fight against AIDS. Among the inevitable events for this is the charity exhibition auction.

And this year, the star of this charity sale was Aston Martin, but not just any. The British manufacturer auctioned the very first example of its new model, the DB12. In addition to a novel appearance that can be interesting, this model celebrates the 110th anniversary of the brand, and is therefore decorated with special details.

Estimates were greatly exceeded

All these elements together are already promised, on top, great success for this sale. And it didn’t work, as the estimated purchase price of the car was significantly exceeded. Indeed, the first Aston Martin DB12 1.6 million dollars leftor 1.5 million euros, during the sale organized by Eva Longoria and James Marsden, while its starting price is $245,000.

This total was therefore added to the evening’s prize pool, which totaled 19 million last year. Since 1985, AmfAR has raised nearly $617 million for AIDS research.
