the first information before its presentation

It’s the year of Citroen: along with the C3, the chevron brand is preparing to launch an SUV version, the C3 Aircross. A distant cousin of the Peugeot 2008 that should be more accessible.

Two days before its presentation, Citroën C3 Aircross is already not very hidden. But he still had something to hide when we have known for months that it will be a “European” version of the C3 Aircross sold in India. Two features of this new style: a more impressive size than the current 4.16 metersstill sold in Europe, and the presence of a third row of seats. The C3 Aircross will be sold in a seven-seater version and will therefore be a serious competitor to the Dacia Jogger, which would be well considered as Citroën is already planning a hybrid version with the 136 hp engine recently distributed in the Stellantis. group.

The C3 Aircross is also electric

Quite logically, Citroën could not stop its C3 Aircross with hot engine variants. The French brand, which is already preparing the launch of the new C3 (arrival in dealers with scheduled deliveries in September), it will offer a 100% electric version of its family crossover which still does not say anything about its technical sheet. The C3’s 42 kWh might be a little tight for a car that’s supposed to be able to transport seven people.

So it is not excluded that the C3 Aircross gets fewer cells to increase its battery capacity. But also its price: it’s hard to imagine a seven-seater electric SUV around €25,000, unless there’s some amazing last-minute surgery. Without guessing the prices that will be known much later (we already have to wait for those of the C3 hybrid…), we imagine them to be closer to €30,000 than €25,000. But one thing is for sure, this C3 Aircross, with a length of almost 4.40 meters, should be more competitive than the Peugeot e-2008… as the C3 is already well placed against the Peugeot e-208. Even if, remember, these two brands don’t exactly play in the same place. And perhaps more accessible than the new Opel Frontera, a direct cousin of this C3 Aircross. To find out more, you will have to follow our presentation on April 18.
