Six teams from Bas-Saint-Laurent in the Chevrolet Cup

After the women’s division last week, Hockey Québec presents the provincial minor hockey championships for its men’s teams., Chevrolet Cup.

Bas-Saint-Laurent sends six teams, four in class BB and two in AAA.

Participating teams

M-11 BB Sieurs de Matane
M-13 BB River and Lake Pumas
M-15 BB Neighbors of Chanoine-Beaudet
M-18 BB Blue and Gold from Rivière-du-Loup
M-13 AAA Albatross
M-15 AAA Albatross elite

The six teams will be in the field for their first match tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon. They all hope to be on the ice on Sunday, the day of the semi-finals and final. –

Ranked second in Quebec in the M13 BB, the Pumas represented the region at the last Quebec International Peewee Championships.

As for the Sieurs McDo M11 BB, they are also part of a group of the top five teams in their category in Quebec. Overall, they have a perfect 31-4-1 record this season.

Both Pumas and Sieurs won the BMO tournament in Rimouski.

Three medals last year

Remember that in the spring of 2023, Bas-Saint-Laurent brought home three medals from the men’s regional championship.

They were defeated by the Mariniers de Rimouski M11 BB (bronze medal), Sieurs de Matane M18 BB (silver medal) and Pumas du Fleuve et des Lacs M13 BB (bronze medal).

Remember that last week, the Cyclones du Bas-Saint-Laurent women’s teams won three bronze medals after losing in the semi-finals on Sunday morning.
