Cupra plans to look to the future this week

Seat SA invited people to its annual press conference this week, and on March 21 they will talk about the current state of the Seat and Cupra brands. Seat may plan an electric car in the distant future, but for us the Cupra is more exciting.

What’s next for the VW brand? In this event there will also be “news and announcements for the coming years”. Wayne Griffiths will host the event and there will also be a short question and answer session for the media afterwards.

An annual press conference like this is important; VW brands showcase exciting products here and provide new information. A good example is Skoda, who showed us the Epiq last week and confirmed two other electric cars for 2024.

The electric future of Cupra

What can we expect in the Cupra? The new Cupra Born VZ is official and the facelift will still be shown in 2024, but not yet. The Cupra Raval should be mentioned, but it is still very far in the future.

Then there’s the DarkRebel, a show car from 2023, which Cupra is also announcing on the invitation to the event, which could be important. However, I suspect that the focus is on SUVs, where Cupra has high expectations this year.

Cupra Tavascan 2024 Heck

There is the Cupra Tavascan as the first electric SUV and the brand’s best seller, the Cupra Formentor, will also be relaunched in 2024. It remains a hybrid, but a facelift is already confirmed for 2024 (also for the Cupra Leon, by the way).

There may not be an all-new announcement like there was with Skoda, but it should still be a very interesting experience with the Cupra taking center stage. Small details are also exciting last year, for example, Cupra confirmed for the first time that the largest electric SUVs will come from 2028.
