The 2024 edition of the Belcar Endurance Championship promises to be one of the most intense of recent seasons, with a battle between famous brands such as Porsche, Lamborghini, BMW and Audi.

• Six races in power rallies, including TCR Europe, European Truck Grand Prix, 25 Hours of Fun Cup, 24 Hours of Zolder and the NASCAR European finale, plus a trip to France.
• Registration is still open and new teams are expected before the start of the season

Another month of impatient waiting… and then it’s that time again: the start of the Belcar Endurance Championship or the Belgian national endurance championship. The meeting place for the first meeting of the season is of course Circuit Zolder, during the New Race Festival, of which more information will follow later. One month since the start of the tournament, we first look at the soldiers and if one thing emerges, it is that the battle will be fought on all fronts and that the battle will be very exciting.

“Before we talk about the existing teams and brands, it might be a good idea to give a broad overview of the 2024 season.“, opens the General Manager of Circuit Zolder, Harry Steegmans. “We will do it six times this season, starting at Circuit Zolder during the New Race Festival, after that we will also do it at home during the Truck Grand Prix, and then we will go to Spa-Francorchamps during the 25 Hours of Fun Cup. The second half of the season it is announced by the 24 Hours of Zolder, after that we go to L’Anneau du Rhin in France and finally there is the final at Circuit Zolder, together with the European NASCAR and the Porsche Carrera Benelux Cup.“

In terms of the rules of the game, there are two notable changes, namely the inclusion of old GT3 cars in the GTA class, according to the organizers, and the addition of the TC class, for touring cars with engine capacity up to two liters.

“Naturally, we like to invite guests or teams that have not participated in the tournament for a while to join us, especially because this edition of the tournament will be very exciting, with a great battle of sports on the line.“, says Harry Steegmans

Audi, Porsche, BMW or Lamborghini?

They are arguably the most popular brand in motorsport and will be appearing again at the Belcar Endurance Championship this season.

“We expect an exciting season with a good starting field and, of course, strong teams from our national motorsport. As far as the GTA class is concerned, we obviously cannot ignore Porsche and then we think of Speedlover, Belgium Racing, YDM-Racing by Roos Motorsport, Q1 Trackracing… and they compete against the Audi, but also with their Russell Racing. Of course there are still possible rivals, but more on that later. there is the GTB class, and of course Porsche and BMW, but the arrival of Toyota or Mercedes is also not excluded. TCL Motorsport, Tip Top Rent are just some of the known names.

Endurance racing also means racing with touring cars and we see that again in the Belcar Endurance Racing. In the TA class, BMW and Audi will of course also be joined by the Cupra, while in the TB class BMW will compete with Renault and in the TC Abarth will be BMW’s rival.

“In terms of teams, we are thinking of G&A Racing, JJ Motorsport, VDW Motorsport, GTE Racing, VP Racing and many other teams that will head to Circuit Zolder for the first race of the season. At the same time, we will give the teams the opportunity to announce their own drivers. on May 18 and 19 at Circuit Zolder!
