Arlo Parks is back! – the album “My Soft Machine” is now available

“My Soft Machine” it is a deeply personal work, a narrative of experience Arla Squares as a man in his twenties and development overlaps with them.

“The world, our perception of it, is filled with the greatest things we experience – our trauma, our upbringing, our vulnerability, almost like a visible snowflake. This record is life through my personal lens, through my body – mid-20s, drug abuse addiction and friends close to me, the guts of first love, struggling with PTSD, depression, self-sabotage and happiness, traveling the world with joy and emotion – what it’s like to be trapped in this body. There is a quote from the movie “The Souvenir” by Joanna. This is a biopic by Tilda Swinton. It tells the story of how the main character, a young film student, falls in love with an older, charming man, and then gets involved in his alcoholism. In one of the opening scenes, she explains why people watch cinema – “We don’t want to see life as it is acted out, we want to see it as it is lived in this soft machine.” So we have my soft machine.” says Arlo. Hence the name of the album “My smooth machine”.
