Aston Martin is expanding its range of sports cars with the DB12. Under the hood, a V8 from AMG provides propulsion.
With the familiar looking DB12, Aston Martin presents a brand new character in its range of sports car models. Visually, the visitor is based on the design language of DB11, but at the same time it is further developed in some details.
The standard radiator grille of the brand has increased, the overhangs of the body look especially short, and the silhouette is also wide and flat.
Two large screens
The cockpit is also more modern, with two medium-sized displays that serve as the instrument cluster and the display/control unit for the infotainment system. The combination of materials and different types of use of leather, carbon and steel create a high quality environment. Several horizontal lines are interesting. The DB12 is networked, of course, offering modern connectivity and an optional Bowers & Wilkens audio system.
When it comes to power, the British continue to rely on the conventional combustion engine. As in the DB11 predecessor, the 4.0-liter V8 from Mercedes-AMG is used with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Its performance has increased to 680 hp and 800 Newton meters. In 3.6 seconds, the power directed only to the rear axle should drive the DB12 to 100 marks. A maximum of 325 km / h is possible.
Of course with ceramic brakes
To transform the existing performance into a determined driving experience, the DB12 is equipped with an electronic rear axle differential, various body reinforcements, an adjustable chassis, large brake discs that can optionally be made of ceramic, as well as anti-skid . a system that can be adjusted in four steps and, if necessary, also controlled by tolerance.
The British have not yet revealed the price, which is probably more than 200,000 euros. It is also still unclear when the fabric roof variant, traditionally called the Volante in Aston Martin, will appear. (SP-X)
