FOR SALE: Exclusive Aston Martin Vantage DTM to be auctioned in Monaco

As part of the Monaco Historic Grand Prix from May 10 to 12, a large number of historic cars will be offered to interested buyers at RM Sotheby’s auction. One of these is one of the five Aston Martin Vantage DTMs produced, which were developed and produced by HWA AG. Daniel Juncadella raced this car in the 2019 DTM season and it is now available for purchase with an extensive parts package and a two-day introduction.

The Aston Martin Vantage DTM represents a chapter in motorsport history. After the successful era of DTM and Mercedes-Benz, HWA used its years of experience in the development and construction of Aston Martin’s Class 1 racing car, which was developed and brought to the race circuit in record time. In the 2019 season, Daniel Juncadella drove chassis V38-063, which is now for sale, to seven top 10 results, making him the most successful Aston Martin driver of the year. The Class 1 touring cars of this era were probably the fastest racing cars around Formula 1, which is also reflected in the technical data.

The four-cylinder turbo engine with a displacement of almost two liters produces 650 hp and 650 NM of torque at a maximum speed of 9500 rpm. With the “Push-to-Pass” system, power can be increased by another 30 to 50 hp. A six-speed sequential gearbox in the transitional model receives power from the engine via a carbon propeller shaft and a carbon four-disc clutch and sends it to the rear axle. An advanced chassis with double wishbones and dampers on the front and rear axles driven by pushrods ensure excellent balance on the track. The carbon brake system is responsible for slowing down and provides more than enough stopping power in all conditions. With a curb weight of at least 986 kg, the Aston Martin Vantage DTM has a power-to-weight ratio of just 1.52 kg / hp.

The bodywork of the Aston Martin Vantage DTM has also been designed to reduce air resistance. A carbon monocoque with a steel rollover structure is surrounded by a carbon fiber body. The rear wing is equipped with F1’s drag reduction system (DRS), which lowers at the touch of a button and reduces air resistance even further. Inside, the buyer can expect a modern racing cockpit with a multifunction steering wheel and an electronic dashboard.
