THE Aston Martin V12 Vantage he was born destined to succeed. Its coupe version had 333 units sold even before the last car was delivered. The new V12 Vantage Roadster goes the same way: although it has been officially revealed now, it was originally offered to a group of wealthy individuals who bought all 249 units available.
What is special about them? They will be the last Aston Martins with the iconic V12 5.2 engine with 700 hp at 6,500 rpm, which powers sports cars such as the DB11 and DBS Superleggera. This is because the British car manufacturer must focus on the development of electric motors.
The eight-speed ZF gearbox directs 76.7 kgfm at 5,500 revolutions to the rear axle. The set allows the convertible to reach a maximum speed of 322 km / h, and 100 km / h becomes a reality in 3.5 seconds.

While the engine is the same as the coupe variant, the V12 Vantage Roadster has a revised chassis and suspension. The braking system was also modified. It is based on a carbon-ceramic assembly, with 410 mm discs and six-piston calipers on the front axle, as well as 360 mm discs and four pistons on the rear axle.

There are two types of finishes for the 21-inch wheels: satin black or satin black with diamond accents. Both options wear Michelin Pilot 4S tires with a profile of 275/35 ZR21 at the front and 315/30 R21 at the rear.

Regarding aerodynamics, note that the Roadster does not come with a flashy spoiler that is indicative of the coupe. Accessories are offered as an option. However, to ensure a good level of downforce, Aston Martin has increased the area of the grille by 25%, incorporated a front splitter and integrated a diffuser into the rear bumper.
The manufacturer also revealed that it takes 7 seconds to open or close the roof. Driving can be done at a speed of up to 50 km / h.

The interior features sports seats called Sport Plus. As usual, it is covered with oiled leather, but there is also an option for a set made of carbon fiber, which guarantees a weight of 7.3 kg. The seats have 16 electric adjustments and are heated.
Speaking of weight savings, Aston Martin has also used carbon fiber on the front bumper, hood and fenders. The stainless steel exhaust, together with the already mentioned carbon-ceramic brake, ensured a total weight of 1,855 kg for the Roadster. Considering all the necessary construction materials of the convertible, it is a reasonable number if we compare it to the V12 Vantage Coupe, which weighs 1,795 kg.

The newest version of Aston Martin was presented with DBR22 electric concept at Monterey Car Week, a cultural event held in the United States. The V12 Vantage Roadster will go into production in the coming months, with deliveries taking place in the last quarter of 2022.
