Attorney General William Tong files suit against Vision Solar, accuses them of illegal activity

The Office of Connecticut Attorney General William Tong has filed suit against Vision Solar, LLC, accusing the company of engaging in illegal activities.

The lawsuit, which was filed in Hartford Superior Court, claims that Vision Solar has violated Connecticut’s Unfair Trade Practices Act. The action comes following an investigation by the Attorney General’s Office into the company’s practices.

The lawsuit alleges that Vision Solar has misled consumers about the cost of solar energy systems and the savings they could expect to see upon installation. The company is also accused of failing to disclose the total cost of the system and of misrepresenting the terms of its payment plans.

“Connecticut consumers should never be misled or taken advantage of when making decisions about their energy systems,” Attorney General Tong said in a statement. “My office will not tolerate companies who use illegal and deceptive practices to prey on consumers.”

The lawsuit seeks an injunction against Vision Solar to prevent it from engaging in the alleged illegal activities, as well as civil penalties, restitution for consumers, and attorneys’ fees and costs.
