S6 etron or RS6 etron?
Audi will launch a fully electric alternative to the A6 in 2024. The model will be called the Audi A6 e-tron and, in accordance with Audi tradition, there will also be additional powerful versions. We can see the first evidence of this in these pictures. This could be just an electric ‘S6 e-tron’ or even an ‘RS6 e-tron’!
It’s been more than two years since Audi gave a real preview of an electric version of the A6 with the A6 e-tron Concept. The Audi A6 e-tron will not only be available as a sedan, but also as an Avant. In the introduction of the A6 e-tron Concept, Audi already hinted to AutoWeek that it is toying with the idea of making an electric RS version of the A6 e-tron. In these spy plates we see the first images of the sportier variant of the Audi A6 e-tron, but whether it refers to the RS version is still not entirely clear.

True to tradition, Audi first brings a new model sports mid-size. That could mean that the A6 e-tron will first get the hot ‘S6 e-tron’ variant and that the RS version will follow later. The heavy duty on this loaded test sample may not seem quite as intense for the RS version, but that doesn’t necessarily mean much. After all, the RS e-tron GT doesn’t look much happier than the non-RS versions of the electric Taycan competitor. The slightly wider front and rear fenders of this stripped-down model, as well as red brake calipers visible behind the wheels, indicate that this is not just an A6 e-tron.
The Audi A6 e-tron concept was presented with a power train of 476 hp and a 100 kWh battery pack. The basic version of the A6 e-tron should also reach a speed of 100 km / h in 7 seconds from a standstill. With 476 hp, the model is undoubtedly very fast. A possible RS version could only have 600 horsepower. For now, it remains a rumour, but it seems certain that there are sporty flavors of the A6 e-tron in the barrel. With the A6 e-tron, Audi is taking aim at cars like the Mercedes-Benz EQE and the yet-to-be-revealed BMW i5. The BMW i5 comes as the sporty M60i xDrive, among other things, the EQE is available in the sporty 43 AMG and 53 AMG flavors.
