Audi S3, sports design and ad hoc interior

The new Audi S3 adopts the design of the latest A3, which adds a sportier meaning, achieved thanks to dedicated bumpers, a redesigned diffuser and a four-pipe exhaust.

The Single Frame grille design and side vents are also special.

The interior has also been revised, characterized by darker shades and contrasting silver elements on the center console. Sports seats with a combined head, partially decorated with processed materials and with contrasting stitching, are common: as an option, you can have the seats covered in black Nappa leather with red stitching.

The steering wheel has a flat cut bottom and, again as usual, Ambient Light Package included and light elements integrated into the center console and door panels.

333 horsepower under the hood with revised trim

The new S3 engine receives power and torque injection, the 2.0 liter TFSI four-cylinder petrol in the S3 now reaches 333 hp and 420 Nm of maximum torque. (23 HP and +20 Nm compared to the current version). Values that allow the required time to be reduced by a tenth passage from 0 to 100 km / h, is completed in 4.7 seconds, while the minimum speed of the car reaches 250 km / h.

The engine is combined with a seven-speed S Tronic automatic transmission, made more responsive thanks to sports tuning; Traction is quattro all-wheel drive, according to tradition. Technical updates include suspension and steering interventions: the setup can rely on stiffer suspension struts, while progressive steering adjustment has been improved.

The rims of the new Audi S3 are 18″ with 225/40 tires, 19″ rims with 235/35 tires are available as an option. The braking system has also been improved, with 357 mm front discs and new two-piston calipers.

Torque split makes it much lighter when cornering

The main novelty on the new Audi S3, however, is represented by Torque Division, already on sister badder RS3: the system interferes with the torque distribution between the right and left wheels on the rear axlereducing the low-end and making the new Audi S3 more agile when cornering.

The Torque Splitter works in conjunction with the different drive modes, which adds the Dynamic Plus setting which favors the distribution of torque on the rear axle towards the wheel outside the curve, it reduces the intervention of the ESC and the intervention in the mapping of the engine and the gearbox to get a quick response, in addition the Dynamic Plus mode increases the idle to 1,300 rpm to make the runner from a stop faster.
