Audi and Volkswagen improve sales in the first quarter of 2023 – El Sol de Puebla


The automobile assembly companies Audi México and Volkswagen México based in the state of Puebla, improved in the its sales in the first quarter of 2023 by 27.5 percent and 13.4 percent, respectively, compared to the same period of 2022.

According to National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), from January to April of this year, the company of the cfour rings sold 4 thousand 097 Q5 trucks, while previously its levels were 3,212.

Even, the most recent figure is considered the highest since 2019, that is, the factory has already managed to exceed its range that it maintained before the Covid-19 pandemic.

As a historical context, in 2018 Audi Mexico sold 4 thousand 473 unitsyes; in 2019, 3,885; in 2020, 2,748; in 2021, 3,634; in 2022, 3,212, and by 2023, 4,097.

Volkswagen sells 33,859 cars in four months

Regarding its sister company Volkswagen México, INEGI, through the Administrative Registry of the Automotive Industry of Light Vehicles (RAIAVL), explains that in the first four-month period of 2023, it sold 33,859 cars.

This quantity reflects that theGerman origin firm sold 4 thousand 004 units more than in the same perioddo last year, since at that time the total data was 29 thousand 855.

Despite this improvement, it is relevant to comment that, unlike Audi México, Volkswagen has not been able to reach its sales levels that it registered before the health emergency.

The foregoing, because it still maintains a deficit of -25.3 percent, since in the first four months of 2019 a total of 45,312 vehicles were distributed in the market, that is, 11,453 more than now.
